For more than 30 years I have been designing and organizing in-service training courses and workshops in dance, Body-Mind Centering® and performance. As Artistic Director of SubsTanz – Atelier für Tanz in Trogen CH I have various events in my own organization. Otherwise, I am also happy to be invited by other institutions.

As a teacher, I share my experiences and my questions, which I transform into dance and into somatic and performance scores. The space we create in my workshops and training sessions is inviting and appreciative. Creating from the abundance, I allow myself the reduction that leads to the momentary essential, or real. I respect your body as your teacher.

The range of training programs is listed below. The open, often shorter workshops are listed on the agenda.

Time leads beYond

Based on the somatic approach in Dance of the Present, a new 2-year training program will begin in 2025: Practicing Somatic Performance. This project is a cooperation between the Tanz- und Theaterwerkstatt in Ludwigsburg [ DE ] and SubsTanz in Trogen [ CH ]. Dancers and movers who want to open up to the new BeYond work are welcome. Also for individual dates. The project as a whole is an in-service training course, but above all has a research character. Seeing and being seen leads beyond the studio work into other and public spaces.

8 DATES spread over 2 years. The shorter dates take place in the Tanz- und Theaterwerkstatt in Ludwigsburg, the somewhat longer dates in the Rösslisaal Trogen CH.

The 2-year in-service training course Ecosomatics – sentient Being in sentient Worlds takes place in Klappholttal on Sylt. It is organized by the Akademie am Meer. 5 module weeks in 2025 – 2027 can be booked individually or as a complete training course.
Ecosomatics – sentient Being in sentient Worlds confronts the present and prepares for what is to come by rooting us back into our sensual body.

Ecosomatics – sentient Being in sentient Worlds introduces a new somatic and artistic practice that aims to strengthen one’s own actions in the world and open up paths for profound change. EcoSomatics is for people who

– want to become even more familiar with your own body
– want to explore the relationship between the body and the living environment
– to find orientation in uncertainty
– and to try out new ways of being together and in intimacy with the world around us

Director: Wilma Vesseur, Collaboration: Laura Machler, Musician: Christoph Schumacher

Dance: the most natural and resilient way of being and moving.

My workshops, which are offered in many places, have different focuses: in the dance room or outdoors, body-oriented, BMC®-based, dance- and music-oriented or performative. The emphasis is described in the respective announcements.

Content-related, musical and body-related impulses create inner and outer dance spaces. Parameters in improvisational scores keep us interested both solo and together. Awareness in the ensemble is a choreographic principle in its own right that needs to be explored. Sometimes I lead my own choreographies to explore dance or musical forms.

We don’t always know what is beautiful or right for the moment, and suddenly it’s there. Sensuality brings us into connection. Everything that brings us into relationship tirelessly co-creates: Space, time, gravity, suspension as well as other bodies and other perspectives.

In company, listening to the intelligence of your cellular universe

As a dancer, Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner and IDME, Infant Developmental Movement Educator, I accompany adults, babies and toddlers in individual sessions. The desire for coaching can be mental, physical, dance, artistic or completely different motivations.

Body-Mind Centering® can be translated as body-mind centering. The BMC® work sets healing processes in motion, supports the path to development and offers a very sound basis for dance and somatic performance. Body-Mind Centering® was developed by Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen, USA and has been used intensively by dancers and therapists as an approach in somatics for 50 years.

The practice of Body-Mind Centering® involves sensing and embodying different body structures and systems (muscular, skeletal, organ, endocrine glandular, nervous and fluid systems). The body reveals itself as a holistic world. Movement developments, both ontogenetic (early childhood development) and phylogenetic (evolutionary) are recalled. This serves as a guideline to catch up on movement options, to learn new ones or to make something possible that seems difficult.

Your own needs and concerns form the starting point for a coaching session.

Infant Developmental Movement Education (IDME) is based on the methods and applications of Body-Mind Centering®.
This approach is respectful and mindful for both child and caregiver. Movement development means that movement and touch set certain developmental steps in motion. The aim is to find the stimuli and support that the child needs at the time. Every child is different and shows its own way of being from an early age. Our guideline is to meet and accompany the child in what it is practising and not to force anything.
Parents and caregivers are invited to observe, accompany and participate in their child’s movement development.

Parents / caregivers and children from 0 months to 3 years are welcome!

Liminal means: no longer this, not yet that. No longer here, not yet there.
The biggest liminal projects are birth and death, the first years of life and the last phases before passing on. In between, there are an infinite number of liminal periods in which we come and go and change.
My soul has found the dance in the broadest sense in order to become more and more familiar with impermanence. It has been able to recognize in it the power to create and the appreciation of development. I meet you in this attitude. As a space-holder, I offer what seems harmonious to us: listening, silence, movement, touch, song, conversation.

These liminal projects are about dedicating yourself to the unknown and becoming more familiar with not-knowing. This can be in individual sessions, a solo work by you that I accompany, or a joint artistic project. The format is defined on the basis of spatial and temporal coordinates.

A liminal project is concluded with a concentration that initiates a new phase. This can be a documentary or a performance. It can be dance, visual, written, spoken, sung, large or small, according to your own ideas. Publicly perceived only by the two of us, or by those you want to communicate with.

The Rössli in Trogen CH offers guest accommodation and space for movement and provides a performance venue.

The new dance labyrinth

Heiligkreuztal Monastery [DE]

Dancing in the monastery and monastery garden

Dance finds forms and dissolves them again. Swirls and waves lead into pulsation, into the dynamics of the spiral and into the plumb line of stillness.
What are the connections between a labyrinth and these original, inspired movements? We dance it:

The new dance labyrinth goes beyond the two-dimensional labyrinth designed on the floor and follows the multidimensionality in body, mind, time and space.

Dans regulates: Parasympathetic, Sympathetic, Empathic,

Schoorl [ NL ]

Anfrage / Anmeldung

Dans van het autonome zenuwstelsel
De parasympathicus en de sympathicus dansen samen, golvend, hand in hand. Toch schiet een van beiden wel eens uit de bocht. This is a good way to find balance and regulation again. Het gaat in deze dagen niet om kennis van, maar om belichaming van. There is an intelligent mind in us.

BeYond- Im Tanz der Gegenwart, is an advanced training program with Wilma in Trogen 2024 – 2026 for graduates of “Tanz der Gegenwart” and for movers and dancers with similar experiences. The training course can be booked as a whole or per module

Moving BeYond is an artistic, exploratory and also spiritual examination of being in the body / being in the world. We want to move in such a way that the dance regulates us. The autonomic nervous system supports the voluntary nervous system. Sensing, feeling and humor (juice) bring us into flow. Not knowledge is validated and strengthened, embodiment of all body systems is practiced.

In Module IV we explore how dance shapes and transforms

My choreographies and impulses are invitations to listen, where dancing becomes inevitable, simply because Bach invites us to dance. We dance freely and in simple forms. A careful introduction ensures that everyone, with or without dance experience, is welcome.
